Is it time to start looking for a new mattress? Well then help me give a big, warm welcome to the Sleeping Duck mattress! Sleeping Duck was a huge hit when it first launched in Australia and now it has made its way to the UK. The Sleeping Duck Design includes layers of latex, memory foam, and pocketed coils.

My Initial Thoughts
After my first night on the Sleeping Duck mattress, here are my initial thoughts:
- Medium Feel – the Sleeping Duck medium mattress comes in at a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale, where 10 is the most firm. The mattress is also available in firm feel or can be split (medium on one side, firm on the other)
- Impressive Support – I’m a big fan of hybrid mattresses and the Sleeping Duck has a solid design. However, what really brings it to the next level is the zoned pocketed coil springs. The 5-zones of the Sleeping Duck do a great job of creating more support where you need it and less where you don’t.
- Good Cooling – both the latex and the pocketed coil support layers do a great job of keeping the sleeping surface cool. During my first night on the Sleeping Duck I did not feel uncomfortably warm at any point.
- Great Edge Support – this mattress does a good job of extending its support to the edges. While sitting on the edge I felt very comfortable. Additionally, I was able to lie directly on the edge and not feel as if I was going to be ejected from the mattress.
